At Inside Out Dermatology, we pride ourselves on providing the highest level of patient care and quality service to both patients and referring physicians. We understand that when you refer patients to us, you’re putting your trust in us to provide your patients with comprehensive, quality care in a timely manner. We are always thankful for your referrals but please see how we triage our referrals as below:
Urgent
Referrals should be categorised as urgent if the patient has a condition that has the potential to deteriorate quickly, with significant consequences for health and quality of life, if not managed promptly. These patients should be seen within 30 days of referral receipt. However, if you require your patient to be seen earlier, please call us on 03 9005 5520 and we would be happy to see them within a week or that day itself.
For emergency cases please send the patient to the Emergency department to the nearest hospital.
Routine
Referrals should be categorised as routine if the patient’s condition is unlikely to deteriorate quickly or have significant consequences for the person’s health and quality of life if specialist assessment is delayed beyond one month.

* If there is an urgent request, Inside Out Dermatology can try to accommodate an earlier appointment after speaking with the relevant GP.

Dr Niyati Sharma is very happy to visit your general medicine practice and undertake an educational lunch session on dermatology topics that are required by your staff. If you require this, please feel free to contact our practice manager, via phone or email. Please remember there is no charge to your practice for these sessions.
