What do we offer at Inside Out Dermatology

Q1: What are laser, IPL, and LED light treatments?

Laser, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), and LED light treatments are advanced skin therapies that use various forms of light energy to treat a wide range of skin conditions. These treatments can improve skin texture, reduce pigmentation, treat vascular lesions, and promote overall skin rejuvenation.

Q2: How does the Cutera excel V+ laser work?

The Cutera excel V+ laser uses dual wavelengths to target and treat vascular conditions and pigmentation issues. It is highly effective for conditions like rosacea, spider veins, port-wine stains, and age spots. The laser energy heats and destroys the targeted blood vessels or pigmented cells, leading to clearer and more even-toned skin.

Q3: What can the Cutera pico enlighten laser treat?

The Cutera pico enlighten laser is a versatile device that uses ultra-short picosecond pulses to treat pigmentation, acne scars, and tattoos. Its rapid pulses break down pigment particles and stimulate collagen production, resulting in improved skin texture and a more even complexion.

Q4: What is IPL treatment and how does it work?

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatment uses broad-spectrum light to target pigmentation, vascular lesions, and unwanted hair. The light energy is absorbed by the melanin in pigmented areas or the haemoglobin in blood vessels, causing them to break down and be naturally removed by the body. IPL is effective for treating sun damage, age spots, and redness.

Q5: How does the Smartlux LED treatment work?

The Smartlux LED treatment uses different wavelengths of LED light to promote skin healing and rejuvenation. It can be used to reduce inflammation, improve acne, and stimulate collagen production. The non-invasive light therapy penetrates the skin at different depths to target various skin concerns effectively.

Q6: What is Venus Viva MD radiofrequency treatment?

Venus Viva MD is a radiofrequency treatment that uses tiny pins to deliver heat through the skin’s surface. This stimulates the body’s natural collagen production and remodels the tissue. It is effective for improving skin texture, reducing wrinkles, and treating scars and large pores.

Q7: What can the erbium YAG laser treat?

The erbium YAG laser is used for precise skin resurfacing. It removes the outer layers of damaged skin to reveal healthier skin underneath. This laser is effective for treating fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and sun damage, providing significant improvements in skin texture and tone.

Q8: Are these light-based treatments safe?

Yes, laser, IPL, and LED light treatments are generally safe when performed by qualified professionals. Each treatment is tailored to the patient’s specific skin type and concerns. Minimal side effects may include redness, swelling, or mild discomfort, which typically resolve quickly.

Q9: How many sessions are needed for optimal results?

The number of sessions required varies depending on the specific treatment and the individual’s skin condition. For example, laser and IPL treatments may need several sessions spaced a few weeks apart, while LED light therapy might require multiple sessions per week for a set period. Your provider will create a personalised treatment plan to achieve the best results.

Do we laser moles? NO and why not?

We never recommend having your moles treated with laser as they can cause many complications. Firstly lasers are not appropriate treatment for mole removal as the lesion is much deeper than where the mole sits in your skin. Secondly if there is a change in your moles, we will not know if its due to it turning into a skin cancer or otherwise. So its best to never have your mole lasered off.
