Dr Sharma will consider several treatment options for you with the preference for the least invasive and most effective option first.  There are however some conditions that required surgery or a procedure such as those listed below:

  • Skin cancer (like Basal Cell Carcinoma’s (BCCs), Squamous Cell Carcinoma’s(SCCs) and melanoma surgical excisions including the use of flaps/grafts where applicable
  • Skin lesion removal such as seborrheic keratosis, skin tags, and sebaceous hyperplasia and cysts both scalp and body.
  • Removal of benign moles and benign lesions for cosmesis
  • Biopsies of rashes and skin lesions
  • Curettage (skin scraping) of lesions such as BCCs and SCCs in situ.
  • Cautery/hyfrecator treatments for skin lesions
  • Cryotherapy using liquid nitrogen for benign and cancerous skin lesions such as warts, seborrheic keratosis or skin tags.

What am I expected to pay for skin surgery?

The out-of-pocket cost varies between $350 to $500 per lesion, depending on the size and site of the skin cancer.

Is there any additional cost for my procedure?

No as the cost of the procedure covers the cost of pathology, and any follow up for wound care, and suture removal.  We will look after you until you are completely healed at no additional charge as we want to ensure you have a full and uneventful recovery.

Does my health insurance cover the cost of these surgeries?

Unfortunately, your private health insurance does not cover for any procedures done in an outpatient setting.
