Skin Cancer Clinic at Inside Out Dermatology
Skin cancer is one of the most common—and preventable—types of cancer in Australia, particularly for those with fair skin, a history of sunburns, significant sun exposure from outdoor work or sport, numerous moles, or a family history of skin cancer.
Inside Out Dermatology’s Skin Cancer Clinic is a dedicated service offering thorough mole checks and skin cancer assessment in a welcoming and professional environment. We combine our expertise with advanced diagnostic support to ensure timely and accurate care.
Why Skin Cancer Checks Matter in Australia
-
-
Australia has one of the world’s highest rates of skin cancer, making regular checks essential for early detection and improved outcomes.
-
Early detection of melanomas significantly boosts survival rates and often allows for simpler, less invasive treatment.
-
Melanoma is among the top cancers affecting young Australians, reinforcing the need for vigilance across all age groups.
-
Community awareness and proactive checks can help reduce long-term health impacts and improve cosmetic outcomes.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed to book a skin check with us, including appointments with Dr Chamoun. Just provide your medical history and GP contact details so they stay informed.
How long does a consultation take?
Standard consultations typically last about 20 minutes. Longer consultations are available if a more detailed assessment is needed or for high-risk patients.
Can I get Total Body Photography?
Yes. TBP is available and strongly encouraged for patients with high-risk profiles—such as multiple moles, new or changing lesions, or history of melanoma. This is done on a separate day with our melanographer.
What about photographs?
You’ll receive digital copies of any photos taken during your visit. If you’d like them on a USB instead, we can arrange that easily—just let us know at your consultation.
Medicare rebate eligibility?
You’ll receive rebates (as shown above) whether or not you have a referral if you are seeing our skin cancer GPs.
