Acne scars can be difficult to treatment and requires a mixture of different treatment modalities to improve the appearance of the skin both in terms of the redness as well as in the scarring of the skin. We hence have different devices that we utilise in our clinic to ensure, firstly its appropriate for your skin type and secondly that it provides the most effective treatment.
Laser /Devices we have:
- Venus Viva MD treatment – this is a 30 min non ablative Radiofrequency treatment for patients that don’t want much downtime of up to 24 hours. This is also safe in all skin types. Currently this device can only be operated in medical clinics.
- Pico fractionated (MLA) laser is another treatment for those that have deeper acne scarring. There is again up to 3 days downtime but often well tolerated and safe in all skin types.
- Erbium Yag laser is for those that want the best results for the very deep scars. There is over 2 weeks of downtime and hence recommended to have a pre laser appointment to understand and go through all the risks.
What is the cost of the procedure?
- Venus Viva MD is $650 per treatment with no medicare rebate available.
- PICO fractionated laser treatment is also $695 per treatment and also does not attract a medicare rebate
- Erbium yag treatment cost varies between $1200 to $2500 and there is a medicare rebate that can be claimed if a valid referral is available.
